Backpackerský život v zimě na Zélandu a další útrapy

Muzu si trochu postezovat v cestine? Dekuju! (A asi timto zase zahajim obdobi blogu v cestine, bez diakritiky bohuzel, proto jsem take zacala psat radeji vic v Aj, protoze me to trochu boli do oci.

Me uz to tak unavuje. Prochazim pracovni nabidky uz pres mesic a co tam clovek obcas nezahledne...

Tydny nezamestnanosti a zimy v aute...

Tesne pred tricitkou uz (me osobne) sber ovoce a dalsi backpackerske prace pripadaji trochu jako plytvani svym casem.

Nas sen to neni.

 Six months on the road

What was not yet said here but for some mysterious reason I want to memorize it.

After cutting off around 15cms of my bizzarelly dry dead ends of my desperate attempt to have long hair, I colored them dark with henna. I never had such a dark color or such a short hair. It was for sure charming. Until the first wash, then it faded away. So I was shortly back to my not-blonde-not-brunette-not-red strange natural hair color. I tried.

I burned myself with hot coffee. I like to be dramatic, but it was just a little bit. It was an accident. The coffee was spilled on places you don't want hot coffee to be. Thomas run to the pharmacy for some gelly medicin. What a morning. Couple of days after that he burned his hand while cooking pumpkin soup. I know, what a dangerous activity. So the gelly medicine was quite handy. I think next time we travel, we will pack our emergency kit more preciselly. We never needed so much stuff from pharmacy as here in Zealand.

We saw seals in wildlife. Like two single ones. One in Mount Maunganui and one in Napier. Than we came to South Island and saw like 300 of them on a single beach the first day so the North Island's experience lost a bit of its value... but still, the one at Mount Maunganui was the first one!

It is funny how I became obsessed with makeup and fashion when I clearly cannot have it. When I catch internet in the van, I spend tremendous hours watching girls on youtube going through their closets. I cannot wait to be back home and have more options to express myself than hiking shoes and the same pair of jeans I wear since we left. The funny thing is that when I was back home, this minimalist wardrobe was exactly what I dreamed of. Since all the possessions don't disturb me in the van, the more desperate I am to start building my new self and show it to the world. Does this make sense?

When it comes to traveling, we have missed so much yet still experienced a lot. We skipped Coromandel, Taranaki and Raglan - places I still wish to see oneday. But on the other hand we saw the central part of the island in quite a detail, as well as Northland, Hawkes Bay and Bay of Plenty. For 6 months travels I am satisfied.

The variety of options you get while travelling is sometimes overehelming. Isnt it better to just pick couple of them and truly "feel" them through? Isn't it better with everything in life? With friendships, projects, love life...and traveling as well. Isn't it better to just pick the best for you and let the other options go away so they don't distract you? It is hard in consumerist society but I am slowly learning that this is probably the key to happiness. To make a choice and stick to it. To enjoy what comes with that choice.

To South Island.

As I watch you from the boat window inside of the deck, you look nice. Warming. Hills full of trees are covered in morning sunlight. The water is a nice shade of blue. Almost no waves. Nice and calm.

There is something so liberating about being spontaneous. I feel almost rebelious, so untethered. Yesterday I had no idea we would board this boat the very next morning. I have a good feeling about it.

If we would not follow that inner voice, what else would we be left with?

 Little roadtrips around Hawke's Bay.

Damn. Looking at these reminds me to be greateful. Considering we were staying there only around 5 weeks, we experienced a damn lot! Three waterfalls, Bell rock formations, short hikes and foggy sea here and there. It was a good month.

 July.

It is almost over. We are moving out in couple of days and we will be out in a van again. July seriously flied over me. I remember the 1st like it was yesterday. I was ill for more than two weeks out of July, not working, trying to cure myself with ginger tea and echinacea while keeping myself warm with an electrical blanket. New Zealandish houses are really cold. I think the difference to the temperatures in our van was not really big. On the other hand I was happy not to be in the van for a while. July was a bit depressing to be honest. I felt broke and stuck, with nowhere to go. The flu didn't help it. I read a lot and watched a lot of TV shows. I did buy a set of nice expensive pencils and started with drawing again. I was doing every possible activity to keep myself distracted from my thoughts of where am I going or what the hell should I do with my life right now. We are planning our life after New Zealand which is still quite far but not too far not to discuss what next. It is stressing me out because we got to make some big decisions. But since the days are getting a bit longer now with the first signs of the spring coming, my mood is slowly getting out of the rut. (Is this all really just connected to the weather? I hope so.) I am now back and ready to enjoy the wait. Because... we are all just waiting all the time, aren´t we? It is in real queues at the cashier, but also waiting until holiday, until we meet the love of our life, until we finish school, etc.. That time in between should be enjoyed as well.
